ISTOBAL

Istobal is a Spanish business group dedicated to the design, manufacturing and commercialization of washing solutions for the automotive industry. Its principal headquarters is in La Alcudia (Valencia) and is comprised of 8 commercial affiliates and 4 assembly plants in Spain, France, the United States and Brasil.

It commercializes its washing products in more than 60 countries by means of its wide network of distributors and its proper subsidiaries. It employs a workforce of more than 600 employees, the majority of them located in La Alcudia (Valencia).

EVOLUTION

ISTOBAL S.A. was founded by D. Ismael Tomás Alacreu in March of the year 1950. The first activity which marked the origin of the present business was developed in a small vehicle repair workshop. Upon fabricating a “first greasing machine” and obtaining great success with this product, a decision is made to modify the business objective, abandoning the repair market and entering full scale in the manufacturing of greasing equipment. It is at this point when the enterprise which has been capable of converting into a grand referral begins to export its products to more than 62 countries in the whole world and which, at present, has a payroll superior to 500 workers.

A constant evolution and a management model in accordance with the most modern methods has permitted Istobal to position itself as an emblematic business in its field, on account of its precise adaptation to the technological advances adapted to the constant development of its line of products.

FROM INVESTIGATION TO INNOVATION

More than a challenge, leadership is for Istobal the motor which impulses our day-to-day labor. To maintain at the top requires an effort of constant renovation. The Istobal Department I+D+I is in charge of this. A great group of experts who comb the market in search of new solutions with which to anticipate the demand.

From the minds and hands of this department have come the new designs and output which have made us advance. But, in order to be ahead, it has been necessary to invest in technology. Now we have the benefits of the precision of laser cutting, the absolute perfection of welding robots, the eternal resistance of products treated in our electroplating section. In addition, with creativity and technology we have been able to develop a wide range of solutions recognized in the market for its technical reliability and its washing quality.

QUALITY AS PRINCIPLE

To defend that quality, more than market requirements, is a principle of essential priority to adhere to the history of Istobal. In 1996 we converted into one of the first Spanish enterprises to attain the certification of our procedures in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
